About GEST Research Groups

Because there are over 150 scientists in GEST, subdivisions are necessary to ensure the flow of information between management and researchers, and between the researchers themselves. In 2007, GEST reorganized its research groups to match recent organization changes at NASA. At that time, mentors were solicited for each group. The mentors provide group members with someone to contact regarding administrative matters who most likely works with them everyday.

Currently there are seven research groups:

Office of the Director and AETD
Code 100-500

Global Modeling and Assimilation Office
Code 610.1

Climate and Radiation
Code 613.2
Mentor: Tamas Varnai

Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics
Code 613.3
