POSITION TITLE: Media Specialist, Science Animation
GEST 130-67-234-L

PERSONNEL STATUS: Exempt, Full time, Grant Funded
Position is for one year with the possibility of extension.
Note: This is a grant-funded position wherein employment is contingent upon
the renewal of the grant and carries no layoff or reinstatement rights.

DEPARTMENT: Goddard Earth Sciences and Technology (GEST) Center

Position is located at the Goddard Space Flight Center located in Greenbelt, Maryland.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Excellent opportunity for an animator with an interest in creating exciting CGI products for NASA science missions. Animator will work with scientists, data visualizers, writers, web designers, and producers to create high-profile 3D content for major NASA science themes including Earth Science, astrophysics, solar and planetary science. Animator will also works with NASA engineers to illustrate mission concepts and objectives. Animation products will be incorporated into a wide array of products used by the broadcast/online media, science centers, formal and informal educational environments, documentary films, podcasts, etc. The incumbent will research and coordinate assignments with scientists, producers and writers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree. Should have working knowledge of 3D animation and experience with tools/software such as Maya, Lightwave, Shake, and After Effects. Note: Selection is contingent upon obtaining Goddard security clearance.

SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience
