Biography:
Dr. Ruei-Fong Lin is currently an assistant research scientist at GEST. Dr. Lin received her B.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan, in 1990, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in meteorology from Pennsylvania State University in 1993 and 1997, respectively. Before joining GEST, she spent eight months at NTU working as a postdoctoral research scientist; this was followed by two years at the Universities Space Research Association as a visiting scientist. Dr. Lin's expertise and research interests are numerical modeling of clouds, cloud physics, and radiative transfer. She participates in the Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment Cloud Systems Studies Working Group on Cirrus Cloud Systems. She, together with Dr. David O'C. Starr of GSFC and Dr. Paul DeMott of Colorado State University, leads the Cirrus Parcel Model Comparison Project of the Working Group.
