Most Recent Publication:

Li, F., J. Austin, and J. Wilson, 2008. The strength of the Brewer-Dobson circulation in a changing climate: coupled chemistry-climate model simulations, J. Clim., 21, 40-57.

Research Interests:

My research interests focus on stratospheric processes. Scientific interests include evolution of the Brewer-Dobson circulation under global warming, interactions between chemistry and climate change, and troposphere-stratosphere coupling.

Biography:

Dr. Feng Li received a B.S. and a M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from Nanjing University, China in 1993 and 1996, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. For his Ph.D. thesis he studied gravity waves in the mesopause using lidar and airglow imager measurements. Dr. Li joined GEST in June 2007 after working at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher for two years. Dr. Li's research interests include gravity waves, middle atmosphere dynamics and chemistry, and coupled chemistry-climate modeling.
