Biography:

Dr. Myong-In Lee received his degrees of B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Atmospheric Sciences from the Seoul National University, Korea in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2001 from the same university. His PhD thesis was an investigation of the cumulus parameterization and cloud-radiation interaction processes in general circulation models (GCMs) in order to improve the simulation of the tropical Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). After two-years of post-doc in the Climate and Environment System Research Center, Korea, where he was dedicated to develop the dynamical seasonal prediction system with GCMs, he joined GEST in 2003 and has been working for the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office at NASA GSFC. His major research areas include the tropical MJO, diurnal cycle of convection and modeling moist physics parameterizations in GCMs.
